Devon Winter Games – Hi Fives Netball Finals

On Thursday 28th March, Willand travelled to Paignton to compete in the Devon Winter Games Hi Fives Netball Finals.
After coming second at the East Devon finals a week earlier, Willand were now in the top 16 schools in Devon.

*We were placed in Group A and our first match was against Leigham where we narrowly lost 2-1.
*Our second match was against Landscore – what a game! We won 4-1 with three fantastic consecutive goals from Lily.
*We then went on to play Sherwell Valley and drew 2-2 in a very close match.
*Then we lost 2-1 against Bickington.
*Our next match was tough against Ermington and they won 3-0.
*We played Decoy in our sixth match and they won 5-2 but we never gave up and battled hard.
*Our final match was a draw 1-1 against Compton.

This placed us in 5th position in our group.
We played excellently as a team – encouraging one another on and off the pitch.

Mrs Bosworth and Mrs Davison were extremely proud of how well we represented the school.
